!!!HELP WITH BETA TESTING!!!

4Kids needs our help.

We have all read the press release, and the websites, and know that Wednesday's release will be in BETA.  This means that the site is not complete (i.e., all of the functionality will not be available) and that it is possible that there will be some errors or issues found.

The people at 4Kids would like us to help them by playing the game as much as we can, and even try to break it.  If we experience any problems, they would like us to report them.  A logical place would be on this thread, and I have already provided 4Kids with the URL, so they, especially the developers, will be keeping an eye on it.

I will be creating a new thread that I ask you only provide errors or issues you find, this can include:

1) It just didn't work
2) It did not work the right way
3) It worked, but it was not what you were expecting.

When you write down the error you find (on the error thread), be as specific and detailed as you can.  If you just write "Maxxor wasn't working," that would not tell them anything.  However, if you write "During a battle, I was using my Maxxor card, and when I used the XYZ attack card, the screen had a message on it that said "Incorrect Data . . . . ."

Also when creating your post, please change the Subject to read "Bug #1", "Bug #2," etc. [Thanks CG for the suggestion'

Once again, if you do report an error, please report it on the thread that reads "Error Report"  If you do not belong to this forum, and do not want to sign up, you can also email me at [e-mail], with the subject "Chaotic: Error Found" and I will pass it on to them.

You can discuss the errors you found within the Errors Found - Beta Release 10/24/07  forum, but please do not discuss them in the thread that the errors are being reported.

[FYI, Hopefully we will not find any or many errors, and secondly, you obviously do not need to report anything (they are not paying us), but if you find anything, it would only help to make the game better, which will help yourself, as well as your fellow Chaotic players]

well not just us, every1 gets to beta test, its just so happens this is the most active chaotic forum other then the 4kids site. and i have a favour for every1 to do when posting on the error forum, change the title of the thread for your post to say like "bug report 1" and the next bug found will be "bug report 2" dont keep posting new bugs under old titles.

Anyone who plays the game, in a sense is a Beta Tester.  If someone does not belong to Nabble, they can email me at [e-mail] and I will post the error report for them.

Because I moderate this forum, and there are tons of fans that read this forum or my website, it is a logical place to post the errors.

can you also have it so it says all the bugs should be a response to the original post. we don't want to go hunting for them like thi:

Another good idea, but I do not want to make too many rules for this.  I would rather discussion of each bug to be in a different thread to keep the Error Report thread free of anything but the actual error submissions.

I really hope that there will not be many issues found, but with thousands of users, we are bound to find something that they may have overlooked.

Well let just hope the Online Portal is up and running and will work fine.

A little look into the life of a developer if an error is found:

1) The person that looks at the error will try to recreate the error by doing exactly what you told them you did when you got the error.

2) Rank the severity of the error (fix it immediately to it can wait).  Depending on the companyv (I am not entirely sure what 4Kids does), either the developer can rank it immediately, they need to send it to a supervisor for ranking, or send it to a committe that reviews it and ranks it.  They will take into consideration stuff like, "how long can the users live with this error," "if the error affects other coding or functionality," "how much time (and money) it will take to fix the error" and a whole lot of other stuff.

3) Error "ticket" gets assinged to a developer or team -- or, if it is something that was not originally thought about when creating the project, a new "requirement" has to be made to tell the developers what they want.

4) Error gets fixed.

5) Users are happy.

So depending on how big of an error it is, it could be a few days, or it could take weeks or months.  Lets hope that if anything we do find will be small ones (4Kids probably wishes that as well).

Before someone asks, no I am not a developer, but I do know a few.

yea like if the bug is caused by a battlegear on a creature and in battle each turn its energy gets fully healed then some people might report it others would want to hide it to keep their rank going up with an invincible monster. so if its something like that it would need to be fixed within the first 2 days to stop any people from abusing the bug like that.

I'm having some issues with the forums. Whenever I try to reply or visit a tread it logs me out, and then disallows me to log back in.
