Good morning!

I would like to know if anyone has any experience (good or bad) using
the "GO Computer™" designed for seniors.
Their website is http://www.thegocomputer.com

I have not heard anything (again, good or bad) about the system or company
and really would like more insight from users and/or practitioners.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Sincerely,
Jamie

I haven't used it, but based on the info available on the website it looks promising enough for me to want to know more. My primary concern is the Orbit optical trackball; some elders, particularly those with arthritis, may find this ball uncomfortable to use or the buttons hard to click. Since it's a standard product, I'm wondering if the GO has a USB port so that other alternative mice could be used, or if the trackball is hardwired. I’m also wondering if text contrast as well as text size can be modified—many elders prefer white text on a black background, for example. Wonder if they’ll be at ATIA or CSUN?

BTW, a couple of days ago the New York Times had an article about new products for elder computer users, http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/29/technology/personaltech/29basics.html?emc=eta1

Hi Jane,

I believe the computer has four USB ports, enough for an alternate input
device.
Thanks for the NY Times article!
