In the past, people have advertised items (especially books) on this list, usually things they were selling as they were leaving China.
I don't see any problems with this continuing and expanding, as long as we are talking about a single individual with second-hand items. We don't want to get into what I would label "commercial sales" where someone is functioning as an enterprise.
Perhaps listmembers could email me with any problems they can foresee with doing this. We might need to set up guidelines, and I'd like everyone's input. Send any suggestions to

I will put together a summary if I get sufficient feedback.
I will also gather ideas from other moderators.
If, in the future, we get an overwhelming number (nothing I would anticipate immediately), or other problems develop related to this, we can look into setting up a separate list just for that purpose.
