The only insurance so far mentioned here is the one having a link at tefl.com. Just for the record, in my age bracket (64-69) with $1000 deductible, health insurance costs $400 for three months. I have a slight problem with the idea that I must bear the burden of my insurance, when younger folk get it for free. Of course, of course, by bearing the cost of the insurance I get the privilege of working. I get that. But this is just one more of the hard facts about growing old, and it stinks on so many levels.. I am working out of necessity, not for pleasure, so I do count every nickle. The recruiter was of the opinion that I should be happy with a lower paying job, because after all I am old and lucky anyone would hire me at all.
I am very happy to learn the Medicare does reimburse for medical necessities abroad. I looked at their web site and did not find that bit of information. I read only that it cannot be used overseas. Now that I know it does reimburse for overseas medical bills, I will look deeper and find out all the particulars.
Thanks for all your help, guys.
