I have 2 students under my wing with the desire to revive ktechlab.
is there another app that does the same for kde4, so they don't
duplicate efforts?

I haven't heard of any other project using kde, and I know my brother would
love to see ktechlab revived :-)

Hmmm, just looked at the http://ktechlab.org/ website, and it appears to have
been revived in July this year, there seems a fair bit of traffic on their new
mailing list since mid-2008.  Perhaps have a chat there to see what's
happening?

Good luck!

John.

I'v tried, but their 'dev' webpage is down or something.
if anyone knows the mail of one dev, please, get in contact with me.

If you follow the other link to their main website
(http://ktechlab.org/index.php), you can eventually find your way to their
mailing list at
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_name=ktechlab-devel
