Summary: Unable to compile SciTE with GTK+ 1.x
Initial Comment:
I have been using SciTE under FreeBSD for a while now. The latest version that was available under their ports tree was 1.71. They marked it for expiration because no one has updated it to 1.74 yet, and I was going to take over the maintainership of the port. However, since version 1.72, SciTE no longer compiles with GTK1 because of the use of GTK2 functions that have not been marked as only for GTK2. 1.71 compiles fine with GTK1, but 1.72 and up do not, and the errors just build up from there. I have tried to see if I could patch 1.74 to allow GTK1 to compile again, but there have been too many changes between 1.71 and 1.74 to allow for this. Is there anything that could be done to make this compile with GTK1, or should SciTE only be compiled with GTK2 from now on?
