 i've still been running pidgin 2.5.7 because every time i download the
 2.6.X pidgin programs, it can't connect to AIM. "Unable to connect to the
 authentication server. Connection timed out". 2.5.7 runs fine, however.

 i saw the previous ticket that says to select the Use clientLogin, but
 that brings up another error "Error requesting
 https://api.screenname.aol.com/auth/clientLogin: Unable to connect to
 api.screenname.aol.com: SSL Connection Failed"

New description:

 i've still been running pidgin 2.5.5 because every time i download
 anything newer (including 2.5.7), it can't connect to AIM. "Unable to
 connect to the authentication server. Connection timed out". 2.5.5 runs
 fine, however.

 i saw the previous ticket that says to select the Use clientLogin, but

 Please follow [wiki:TipsForBugReports the instructions] to get a debug log
 and attach it to this ticket.[[BR]]This probably means something is
 blocking SSL connections. Are you on a corporate network with a
 firewall/are you behind a proxy?
