Another ticket is open for this, but I believe it to be a similar or
related issue. Before I am able to control my status, I seem to be unable
to IM anyone on my Buddy List. Often, changing my status to "Busy" seems
to resolve the issue, but it could be a coincidence of my timing and some
slow communication with the server.
