#10707: Cross-contamination in Pidgin chat

I think I may have come across a Pidgin security problem and would like to
know if anyone else has had this happen to them. I have had a brief look
at the Pidgin page but have not seen anything remotely close to what just
happened to me.
I was just chatting to 2 separate friends when Pidgin kept saying one was
now online, it did this the other day as well. I asked her if she had a
connection problem and she said her only PC issue right now was her msn
kept opening a second window. This window contained another chat that I as
having with another friend. The one with the new windows opening all the
time was using msn (in Windows of course) and I was chatting to her from
my yahoo account. Anyway the second person I was chatting to her through
my msn account to her yahoo account. Long story short I only use my msn
for 1 person and only because my yahoo wont connect to her yahoo. Some of
the chat is deeply personal in nature and I am quite worried about "Cross-
contamination" in Pidgin now. I realised just now that I am lucky to have
very respectful online friends who kept shutting the new window down but
that does not change the fact that this is a SERIOUS security flaw.
