[67cat] [other] NetBeans 6.7 Final

Hello,

I just realized that 6.7 final is downloadable and it seems to start
much faster and reacts better than RC3.
Very good job.

The only thing I realized was, that activating Java SE took about 3
minutes on my MacBookPro. Did someone else realize this?
It is not as bad since it is only called the first time, when I use it
but maybe a small additional message would help users to recognize
that this is no freeze?

Stefan

From: http://www.netbeans.org/features/

Titled: "NetBeans IDE 6.7 Features"

"The NetBeans IDE supports JavaFX Mobile and..."
"Powerful language-aware editor for JavaFX,..."

This is clearly not the case - yet.
Even if you click on the JavaFX link, where it only mentions 6.5... it
should make things more clear about the state of JavaFX on 6.7.. other
than the tiny blurb on the download page that is easily overlooked by
anyone that might be accustomed to just grabbing the "full" version.

Even a "we're working on it" message would be nice. Yes, it should be
obvious, but it is still nice to see.  I wonder how may JavaFX
developers will update without realizing the limitation or will be
searching hopelessly for the JavaFX plugin for 6.7?

Yes, but currently It's not best, as it could be. We have to wait for
1st Hotfix: http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=166800

That issue is only relevant for users developing with the OpenJDK
sources, right?

I have experienced, that this build is faster on all my projects, but
the big fish was the OpenJDK project.
Also Issue 166668 seems to be obsolete on this build.

I left activating NB6.7 running overnight showing activating Java SE. It was still doing it 7 hours later. Not a good start. Two further restarts (each with exceptions http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=123559), and then a project scanning using >100% cpu (on linux with dual core) for >30mins (before I killed it).

Hmmm. All I did was open a Maven Java project in a newly installed IDE. Something it should be able to handle easily.
