Regarding Issue 108948 I like to ask you:

What is Your common practice on Start menu?

I prefer to order them into subtrees to avoid hundreds of items in the root start menu (see graphic below) and you ?

For what it's worth I never have more than 4-5 versions of NetBeans on my system.  Now, for example, I have 6.7.1 (for extra stability), 6.8 M2 (which is heading for deletion), 6.8 Beta, 6.8 Build 200910170201 (in case the latest build is too buggy to use conveniently), and the latest 200910230201 which I'm using and seems OK for now.  I really don't need launchers for these in a program menu.  The installer puts them on the desktop where I bunch them together, and I drag the current one to the launcher bar in Windows or Linux.
