[68cat] [news] Early 6.8 Community Acceptance survey

Hello NetCAT team,

as old NetCAT veterans already know we will launch a Community Acceptance survey together with Release Candidate #1. In that survey any registered community member can vote if the RC is ready for FCS or not. However, if somebody objects, s/he must also state an issue # representing a showstopper for such a serious decision.

Since Code Freeze milestone is rapidly approaching, we decided to do this pre-survey and ask you - our NetCAT testers - what you would say if the CA survey would be now. If you have an issue that you consider to be a true showstopper in recent daily builds, what is it? Please vote via a special Wiki page [1] created for this occasion.

The point is to understand your critical problems now when there is still a good chance to do something about it. Be conservative though - choose just 3 issues and modify the Wiki. We will try to look at it.

Hi,

Is this wiki page meant to detail bugs only or enhancements?  I've got one enhancement logged (#175513) which is causing me trouble developing with NB.  To me its a show stopper not having this enhancement fixed, but I realise for many users, this may be irrelevant.

Cheers,

Dave.

Hello David,

I am sorry but NetBeans 6.8 is already feature frozen so implementing new functionality is not possible at this phase. However, I think you can put your issue to that table given you mark it clearly as RFE. This way we will at least consider seriously your issue when planning NetBeans.next.

Thanks for your understanding,
-Jirka

No probs.  The important thing is that the issue is logged and will hopefully get looked at soon.

Cheers,

Dave.

The performance is looking good for me but... I've had to remove the cache directory a number of times because the symbols database is getting corrupted ( can't find existing classes)

E.g. http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=175605

But thanks for the remembering. Maybe that would repair it.
