Hi all,

Mitch (cc-ed here) from Javalobby would like to put together an article similar to this one, but on 6.8:

http://www.javalobby.org/java/forums/t104052.html

Since you've been testing the 6.8 release, you're probably best placed to answer this question:

"What are the best new features/supports in the new NetBeans 6.8 beta?  How does this release compare to the releases of past NetBeans versions?"

If you could answer this question as soon as possible, Mitch will be able to release the article on Monday, which would be a great way of advertizing the 6.8 beta release (thanks Mitch).

Either answer here or send an e-mail back to me (and Mitch) and that way the article can be put together.

Hi Geertjan Wieleng

"Embedded Browser" is the most attractive feature on NetBeans6.8 beta.

I want to know the API and the samples to create modules using "Embedded Browser".
Please write articles about these on your blog .

I'd say
1. Speed/responsiveness
2. support for JEE6 and
3. the graphic view of classes - not sure if this is new (I think it was a plug in before) but it proved to be invaluable on a refactor I've done this Friday.

That's not part of the 6.8 release, so shouldn't be included in the article.

Yes, and after QE evaluation, we decided to move the feature to the
update center (see the list of supported platforms/architectures)...
Embedded browser was in M1 but it will not be in NB6.8 distribution...

But I could install "Embedded Browser UI - XUL Runner"
on NetBeans6.8 Beta.

Then I could included the library for Embedded Browser into a NetBeans Module Project.

So I want to know the API and the use Samples for Embedded Browser.
Where can I find these Know-How?

I would like to point out the redone Kenai support - it is much better
than in 6.7 (both usability and design improved). After we released 6.7,
there was quite a big and passionate discussion about what we do not
like on the Kenai dashboard etc. In the end, we ended up with consensus
and assembled the set of use cases that we covered later. This proved me
that we are able to take a step back when it's needed and redo an
implementation of a feature soon enough when we are not fully satisfied
with it (if we aren't satisfied, how could our users be?)...
