Hello,

one of the goals of the 6.8 release of NetBeans is improve the
performance and one of the area where there were lot of complaints was the
situation where the IDE was "scanning". You can read the details about the
effort here

http://wiki.netbeans.org/EditorIndexing68

and one of the attempts how to improve the IDE behaviour was to allow
the user to do some specific things while the background processing is taking
place. Here

http://wiki.netbeans.org/IDEUsableWhenScanning

is a page that tries to summarize/test what is and what is not
possible while the scanning is running. We want you to try out Milestone 2 and
let us know if you still have problems with scanning. Please feel free to modify
the page with your experience, links to related bug reports and similar. We will
try to still address the most pressing issues from the list for the final 6.8
release. Please base your reports on usage of the M2 (or later) builds.

Please note that the speed of the actual scan should be higher with
6.8 builds than it was with 6.7 (and the frequency when it happens should be
smaller).

Thanks for your continued support in making the NetBeans IDE faster
and more usable,

David

Can you add to the list? :
First process collapsing code folds -->

I think, checking a single file, the one, which is visible on screen,
for javadoc and/or method signatures isn't such a big job, which can't
prepended.
