 Hello,

 I think an update feature should be added to Pidgin so that people can
 check for updates through Pidgin itself, instead of always having to go to
 the website; and maybe a feature that will automatically alert the user of
 a new update.

 When I try to check my Windows Live Mail e-mails in Pidgin, the screen
 takes me to the old MSN page and asks for my password, which usually does
 not work; so I have to go to the new Windows Live Mail screen to sign in
 there; I guess the new Windows Live Mail log screen needs to be set in
 Pidgin now.

 Also I think it would be nice for the Pidgin team to add some more
 networks like Facebook, Twitter, etc.

 Pidgin updates: I could have sworn there was the Release Notification
 Plugin in Pidgin by default.  Maybe it's been removed.

 Windows Live Mail: I suspect this is a duplicate of ticket #8865

Comment:

 Pidgin does indeed ship with a Release Notification plugin, which notifies
 the user of new versions when pidgin starts.

 I agree that the WLM login issue is likely a duplicate of #8865.

 And we have no interest in supporting further protocols ourselves.

 As that seems to cover all points of this ticket I am going to close it.
