I've been a long time user of GAIM/Pidgin. A couple of versions ago I experienced no sound. Looking at settings mute is unchecked in system tray menu and preferences. All sounds are selected and set to default. Tested each individually. All play. Sounds in Windows are properly working in all other programs. I am using latest version of Pidgin. Enable Sounds Always selected. Simply will not work. You have the specific sound events you want to hear enabled? You can test those sounds correctly? And despite all that you can't actually hear the sounds occur in normal use? What sound events specifically are we talking about?
