Hi,
I need to solve a large scale optimisation problem for which I am
using AMPL. My instructor wants me to use the CBC solver for it. I
have a Windows platform and am using Microsoft VC++. I have downloaded
CBC version 2.2.2 and now don't know how to proceed.I would greatly
appreciate if someone helped me by giving me basic instructions on
getting this solver to work and solving the AMPL model using CBC
solver.

Actually since I need to add certain changes to it as well, I wanted
to know how to get CBC running for AMPL because I think it is made to
run MPS by default.

Check the documentation at COIN. Once you have compiled or with the
cbc binary
right away which you have downloaded, you can use it as your AMPL
solver, which
assumes ou have the student executable of AMPL also locally or better
a full
version.
