[AMPL 2799] Using AMPL/Windows in LinuxHello! I have a version of AMPL/CPLEX and I am using this version in the Windows XP. But, it does not work when I want to use this version of AMPL/CLPEX in the Linux. Should I purchase another version? Would anyone help me what can I do? Thanks in advance Saber --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "AMPL Modeling Language" group. If it is a student (free) version, you could try running it in Linux using Wine (I haven't tried it, but my guess is it would work). Failing that, you could look at one of the free virtual machine packages (such as VirtualBox OSE) and perhaps run AMPL/CPLEX under Windows in a VM on the Linux box -- but that would require installing Windows, which means you'd need a license for Windows for the Linux box. /Paul --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "AMPL Modeling Language" group. [AMPL 2803] Re: Using AMPL/Windows in LinuxDear Paul, Mittelman Thanks for the reply. I am using a full version of AMPL/CPLEX101. As Paul said, I think I should purchase a Linux/CPLEX license. [AMPL 2807] Re: Using AMPL/Windows in LinuxSaber, Check the type of license you have. Some places buy a network (multiuser) license and run the license manager on a network server, with clients grabbing and returning tokens as needed. If that's what you have, you may not need to buy the Linux binary -- you may be able to download it and run it, connecting to the network server. If your license is for a single machine, though, then you'll need to buy a new license. Look for an ILM folder in your installation, which should contain documentation (PDF file) and your license (text file named access.ilm). /Paul --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "AMPL Modeling Language" group. [AMPL 2811] Re: Using AMPL/Windows in LinuxDear Paul My license includes Site Key. Regard to the AMPL window I have this error: ilm: AMPL: license file not found or unreadable ; run ilmcheck. Unfortunately I could not open the limcheck.bat file in Linux. Do you have any suggestion? [AMPL 2824] Re: Using AMPL/Windows in LinuxLooks like you have a single machine license for Windows. If you want to only call it from Linux, maybe you can give back the Windows license and get instead a Linux one.
