Testcase:
- Open Amarok (with the Xine backend enabled)
- Play your favorite mp3
- Configure Amarok -> playback
- In the Phonon settings dialog, prefer GStreamer and hit OK.

Amarok should now give you a nice crash: (forgive the lack of threadweaver
symbols, no clue what's up there...)
