Will be interesting try to solve this at least for next major release, as this
bug is appearing since years and I have also seen some similar reports
Christophe, What info do you need for trying to solve this? Do you have any
idea about why resume is not being added? Thanks

Description of problem:
I can hibernate my laptop, but when powering on, it always reboot instead of resuming. I saw it complained that 'resume' parameter was missing in boot line, so I added it, and all is working.
The question is why was the resume parameter forgotten? It is fresh 2008.0 DVD install.
