Summary: 2010.0a1 urpmi-edit-media, drakprinter, disk and ftp
                    repo pb
    Classification: Mandriva Linux
           Product: Mandriva Linux
           Version: Cooker
          Platform: i586
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: normal
         Component: Installation
        AssignedTo: install@...
        ReportedBy: philippe.roubach@...
         QAContact: bugs@...

Description of problem:

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. make a disk install
2. add ftp repos
3. use drakprinter to setup a printer hp 1220
4. drakprinter search packets in disk repos in /media

but in media there no iso then no main folder

i assume adding fpt repos suppresses /media/...iso but not disk source in the

I am not sure what the problem is, would you please clarify. Is it that your
printer isn't set up or that no repositories are found? If the issue is that
the printer isn't detected please run the following and attach the output:
        grep hal_lpadmin /var/log/{messages,syslog}
        hp-check -r
If the issue is that no repositories are found, please run the commands from a
terminal and attach their output.

A Mandriva developer or a development community member has requested that you
provide further information on this bug report in order to aid in reproducing
and resolving it. Please provide the information requested, and if necessary,
remove the NEEDINFO keyword. If the NEEDINFO is present after you have posted
the requested information and you do not have the power to change it, please
mention this in a comment, and a triage team member will do it for you.

it's not a drakprinter pb

drakprinter is just the case where you meet the pb

when disk and ftp repos are activated then urpmi (i assume launched by
drakprinter) searches only in disk repos

So the bug that you're reporting is that it only searches the disk
repositories?

as local media in /tmp/image/ instead of being removable media

2010.0free

it remains the following pb :

i switch on my printer-scanner
system ask for me if i want setup printing
after saying ok to install all packets (task-printer) i have the error window

"impossible d'accéder au média  "Main media" (unable to access to "Main media")

then i validate

packets are installed

then gui installer disappears

then nothing else !

no message saying my printer is installed or not !

then

i go to tools/system/tools menu

i see 3 tools about printing

"printer manager" (cups)
printing
default printing

but nothing about my printer

it seems after printing packets are installed the automatical installation of
my printer -scanner is not launched

then
i switch off my printer
then
i switch on my printer
then
system asks for me if i want to install task-printing-hp, libsane-hpaio, xsane
then
i say ok
then
i have an error window
"impossible d'accéder au média  "Main media" (unable to access to "Main media")
then
i validate
all packets are installed

my printer works well

summup :

Original Bug Text:

Description of problem:

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. make a disk install
2. add ftp repos
3. use drakprinter to setup a printer hp 1220
4. drakprinter search packets in disk repos in /media

but in media there no iso then no main folder

i assume adding fpt repos suppresses /media/...iso but not disk source in the list of source media
then
drakprinter search in iso main instead of ftp main

Thierry, any idea why the generated urpmi.cfg after install doesn't have
cdrom:// media?

Did the reporter install from a physical DVD or from an iso image? It looks to
me as though it may be the latter, in which case, the problem may be with the
way in which the iso image is being mounted (or not mounted).
