I have read something about the issue that the migration from kde3 to kde4 does not work correctly maybe it has something to do with this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Bug Text: Description of problem:I have upgraded my Fujitsu Siemens E8110 Lifebook form Powerpack 2009.1 to 2010.0 but when starting with a normal useraccount the desktop stops with a message that kdestartupconfig4 cannot be found. when logging in as root no problems seem to occur. increasing userrights does not seem to solve the problem. when using Xfce as desktop no errormessages are shown Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):2010.0 Powerpack How reproducible:occurs everytime when I log in it occurs Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://qa.mandriva.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. |

Reported By: carlo.borger@... --- Comment #6 from Ahmad Samir <ahmadsamir@...> 2009-11-14 08:28:46 CEST --- No, I don't think this is caused by the upgrading of kde3 to kde4, nor by the new guest account, something seems to have chown-ed the whole /home to root.. This should fix it: chown -R carlo: /home/carlo chmod go-rwx /home/carlo do the same for the other user accounts by replacing carlo with the other account user names in turn. I am for closing this as INVALID, I don't know what would have chown-ed the /home home to root? |
