[Cooker] Going somewhat silent for a while due to my military serviceHi all!
For the next 6-12 months I'll be on my military service [1], meaning that I can contribute to Cooker much less than usual. I'll still have free time on most weekends, but it remains to be seen how much I'll be using that for cooker. I'll try to reply to my emails on weekend vacations, and to any SMS [2] daily. Internet is not forbidden in there, though, so I may later respond to emails during the week as well. We'll see. Ander Conselvan de Oliveira (X11 maintainer) will be available for proprietary driver packages while I'm away. I'll be gone next Monday, with the first weekend vacation being 2-3 weeks after that. I just know it :) Have fun (if it's possible, not sure what the general feelings about this are) and we'll hopefully see you back here in 6 months (is that early release for good behaviour??) But if you have an option, go for armed service. Going to the military and not using a gun is kind nonsense. I run around almost one year, when not using a M964 http://www.exercito.gov.br/01inst/armtmuni/fuzis.htm (FAL the old one), was with a M971 MAG http://www.exercito.gov.br/01inst/armtmuni/metralha.htm but at the end of the year I had like only 5 seconds total of fun with a MAG, 10 shots per second is fast. > I'll try to reply to my emails on weekend vacations, and to any SMS [2] > daily. It used to be 40 days in Brazil, but the year I gone to military, they allowed people to go out at nights after the first week, but it was mandatory to be there from 6 AM to 6 PM or you would go to jail. And it was preferred to conscript people to service in the same city they lived, so that people would go home tonight and "eat there". (I gone to military in 1990, yes I am old). > [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription_in_Finland > [2] +358 50 3803997 Paulo |

At least, I think it was not Anssi intent. Anssi, good luck and we'll be happy to see you back for good in 6 months ! |

Heh, not really. The length of service depends on the position and whether one is selected for NCO or officer training. IIRC 9 months is the most common length in the Armoured Brigade, which is where I'm going to. -- Anssi Hannula |
