Ok, FF-3.5 works fine for me.
I find this new release as faster responsive for user actions than
3.0.x. Feel free to test and ofcourse to provide some feedback ;)

Yeah running fine here. Had to update some extensions manually but such
is life.

All seems to be pretty responsive and memory use seems OK so far too.

Yes, it is really faster than 3.0 and consume less memory (about 30%
less under Linux). All plugins I am using are working well with it,
but there will always be people using plugins not supported yet, so
providing 3.5 for previous mandriva releases might be a complex
question (If it was only depending on me, I would provide it).

Yeah same for me. I use the firebug and webdeveloper extensions and they
are all working well :)

I think a lot of 2009.1 users would appreciate this in backports.... :)

Hmm, well this is a 32 bit plugin... you'll need nspluginwrapper to run
32 bit plugins. Did this run on previous firefox? If so then perhaps
nspluginwrapper needs tweaked.

Yes, indeed, same problem here: firefox 64bits only looks into
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/, not /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins/

As a workaround, moving the plugins manually works.

Nice to read this ;)

I'll try to tune up the ff-3.5 over this weekend.

well I didnt even know I had it ;)  mine seems to be 64-bit and comes
from kopete-4.2.95-1mdv2010.0.  Even though its in
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins not /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins!

guess this proves Eric's statement that its only reading /usr/lib!

I am running Firefox 3.5 in 2009.1 for several days now without problems.
Downloaded tar from Mozilla site and extracted to ~/
Pointed a symlink to it from /usr/bin after uninstalling prev. version
and it's fine.
It uses much less memory and is very snappy.
Barry.
