[Cooker] Sound issueSince some time ago, when I start session my sound is muted (speaker icon shows muted).
When unmuting, ever is at 100% volume (this is a problem if you don't remember this and you are using headphones). I think the change to 2.6.30 has something to see. Yesterday, I reinstalled my cooker setup to x86_64. For some reason, the kernel was not updated. When starting session, volume didn't work, but it was not muted (the icon was not the 'muted' one). But pulseaudio didn't work. The problem was that the new version of udev was asking for a 2.6.30 kernel to enable something to let pulseaudio work. Once updated the kernel, pulse returned to work, but also returned the muted sound issue. Regards |

This has been mentioned earlier on the list. As for the starting muted thing, I'm not too sure about this but I see this too. In a few weeks when the Desktop Summit is over and the PA maintainer returns from holiday I'll try and suss out the muted thing. I think it may stem from other audio setup stuff now done in Fedora at the alsa level. KDE 4.2.96 Latest kernel/udev/... once KDE is started, everything is mute and at 100% level, so I have to unmute the different sink and decrease the level. However Front is very low, so I have to increase front, whereas PCM is at 100%. -- Close the World, Open the Net http://www.linux-wizard.net |
