[Cooker] under 2009.1 firefox get stuck since latest update

Hello,

I update yesteday my 32 bit 2009.1 to firefox-3.0.15-0.1mdv2009.1

Since then, firefox get stuck when accessing pages that used to work
before. Common point seems to be that those pages contain flash ads or
video (for example, clicking on DailyMotion Instant On video by Mandriva
will block firefox).

It doesn't respond anymore, window doesn't refresh, only solution is to
kill it (but unfortunatelly, it will lock soon after)

This is higly reproduceable in my case.

Only solution for now seems to remove libflashplayer.so

Do you have nspluginwrapper installed (by default: yes)? Then try to
remove it. It causes more trouble than it solves.

No, I already removed it some times ago, since I don't see its use under
a 32 bit install.

Only libxulrunner1.9-1.9.0.15-0.1mdv2009.1, firefox-3.0.15-0.1mdv2009.1
and yelp-2.26.0-3.5mdv2009.1 were updated, no other rpm were
added/removed.

Well, it launches flash in a separate thread, which help a lot fullscreen
video playing in dual core CPU. And firefox will not crash when flash
crashes.

Indeed, it's true it could be useful for multi core/thread cpu, thanks for
the tip.

On the other end, could it be that latest firefox update for 2009.1
requires nspluginwrapper to work correctly now ?

I don't think nspluginwrapper is needed..

If you have libflashsupport uninstall it, (of course make sure you
have latest flash rpm).

If nothing else works try a fresh firefox profile, just for testing.

Maybe is related to Firefox? There is a new update, 3.5.5, at least in Windows. The changelog is all about solving stability issues...
