I was wondering if anyone could refer me to a list of best practices for setting up a course in Sakai. I am trying to collect some basic information for instructors (some with limited tech experience) who are new to Sakai.

You might look at the Sakai book (officially: Sakai Courseware Management: The Official Guide).  Here's a review from an instructional designer:


Specifically Chapter 9 might be helpful. It is excerpted on the publishers website at:
