15th International Conference on Management of Data
         COMAD 2009, Dec 9-12 2009

          CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

For close to two decades the COMAD - International Conference on Management of Data has
been the premier international database conference hosted in India. The first COMAD was
held in 1989, and it has been held on a nearly annual basis since then (except for a few
breaks such as in the years when VLDB and ICDE were held in India).

COMAD has always had a significant international participation, with about 30% of the
papers being from outside India, including Europe, USA and East/South-East Asia.

The 15th COMAD is Organised by International School of Information Management (ISiM)
from December 9-12, 2009, at Infosys Technologies Limited, Mysore, Karnataka, India.
Similar to previous years, COMAD 2009 not only includes paper from traditional database
areas but also on Web technologies, Information Retrieval and Data Mining.

For the first time, COMAD also features a co-located PhD Students' Symposium to be held
at the premises of ISiM on Dec 9, 2009.

The Strange and Wondrous Ways of Industrial-strength Database Query Optimizers

Exploring Interaction Networks for Services Industry
-- Sameep Mehta, Vinayaka Pandit and S. Kameshwaran

In addition, COMAD 2009 features the following research sessions with 3-4 papers
in each: Data Management, Information Retrieval, Data Mining, Industrial Applications,
Graph Data Management and Mining and Data Streams Management.


COMAD 2009 also features a demo session, industrial sponsor session and a gong show.
