Hi everyone.

I've received the message below through the bug tracker -- and I'm not
quite sure why a 2.6GB file would be too large to copy, unless his iPod
uses FAT16 instead of FAT32. However, FAT16 is limited to 4GB
partitions, which seems unlikely for today's iPods...

Any ideas?

JCS.

Summary: Large Audio Book Won't Copyu

Initial Comment:
I have a large 2.6gb audiobook in .m4b format.  It won't copy... Get message saying that the file is too large for that ??? can't read because the window cuts it off.

I have several very large audiobooks that won't copy.  I am visually impaired new to Linux and loving it.  Need to have access to my audiobooks.

Allen

Maybe try if a simple "cp" to the same iPod works? At least that should tell him if it's a problem with the partition.

Hi,

as far as i know, the maximum filesize of a FAT16 partition is 2GB, the
maximum filesize of a FAT32 partition is 4GB.

So the transfer of a 2,6GB file to a FAT16 partition will always fail.

Kind regards, Jan.
