Oops... I meant to send this to the entire list, not just to Stephen...

Yes, and it's easy to get onto those sites, too. For me, the easiest
way is through CD Baby. My Progressive Rock band Pinnacle sells both of
our releases through CD Baby and have opted for the digital download
option. CD Baby takes care of the rest. I recently met a gal from
Nashville (she gave a "Marketing On-line" talk at electro-music 2009)
who loves Reverb Nation. She pays a fee for digital distribution. I'm
sure that there are other ways to get distribution at no or low cost and
we all favor one way or another. Actually, I sometimes like reading
Derek Sievers' blog even though he no longer owns CD Baby. I like
reading mail from Reverb Nation. These can be interesting sources of
marketing inspiration... and sometimes not so much. Attending
electro-music is great because almost everyone is an artist and many of
us share our marketing insights. Discussions like this, even if a
little off the main topic of this list, are great. Just talking about
this stuff with anybody can generate ideas which is always a good thing.
Cheers,
Bill
