Hello PDA group,
I was asked in the last meeting by the group to find out more about what the needs were for Timber Monitoring projects in R2. I have talked with my supervisor and got some better criteria for what we are looking for:
I contacted Jane Arnold at R1 in regards to some 1600 data forms they were using. The forms were created with VCE and she is using SQL Server. She sent me a powerpoint illustrating some of the forms plus some information on the forms that are being used. My supervisor would like to incorporate something like this or just use it.
There is another example program I was directed to, the IMMP Database (Interagency Mitigation and Monitoring Program), however I have been told this protocol has been recently updated and they are rebuilding their database to reflect the new structure.
Currently I only know a handful of tricks with Access and have no experience with SQL server.
Some of the products discussed in the last meeting sound like good places for us to start. I will attempt to fill out the needs assessment on the RAP site for R2 (although I only speaking for Timber Harvest). Some of the items listed are a bit esoteric, like going to buy a car and having to specify "you want fuel injectors and/or lock nuts on the differential casing?" "Um, yeah, I guess so...".
I just want to drive.
Anyway, I'll fill that out ASAP.
