United Nations University, International Institute for Software Technology (UNU-IIST) is searching for Research Fellows to join its e-Governance Programme, to build on the strengths of its existing research in ways that addresses key 21st century challenges of sustainable development in the application of and user engagement with computers and information technologies.
Successful appointees will: (1) carry out applied and user-focused research on e-Governance; (2) publish research results through leading book, journal and conference series; (3) implement research results into instruments – guidelines, toolkits, software, etc. for practitioners; (4) organize postgraduate courses for academics and schools for government officials on e-Governance; (5) support the establishment of postgraduate programmes on e-Governance with partner universities; (6) organize workshops for policy and decision makers, public managers, academics and civil society; (7) support the establishment of Resource Centres with governments and Twinning Centres with universities to jointly sustain e-Governance in the countries; (8) lead projects in the Programme portfolio, develop new projects to join the portfolio and raise funds for them; (9) supervise a team of fellows and researchers; (10) build and sustain collaborative relationships with
relevant organizations; and (11) remain active in international research and policy networks.
