Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Liam Quin (ankh) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Gaim can open windows off-screen if screen-size changes Initial Comment: gaim remembers the size and position of windows, including error messages and notification popups. Run an X session with a smaller screen size - e.g. if I start my laptop without the external monitor the desktop is 1024x768 instead of 1600x1200 - and the gaim notification windows all come up off the bottom of the screen. Some window mamagers (e.g. sawfish) can move such windows back onto the screen; gaim should do this automatically by checking the screen size. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2004-09-03 15:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 I don't beleive that this is a gaim bug. It seems that it would be the WM's problem because it would be the only thing saving window locations (apart from the buddy list). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eric (hiware) Date: 2004-08-28 17:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=954560 Well the buddy list now repositions itself if the resolution changes and it goes off screen. This is really great under terminal services, where it's very common to change resolutions depending on where you're RDPing from. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2004-02-28 13:32 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 the only window we place at all is the buddy list. the placement of all other windows is entirely up to your window manager (unless of course gtk is doing something we aren't aware of). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eric (hiware) Date: 2004-02-28 13:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=954560 Also, under Windows, when you change the screen resolution, some popup menus no longer popup under the mouse, including menus from the menubar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=680472&aid=906447&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
