SMTP Configuration and notify to interest users on new artifacts been uploaded

Hi all,
I believe it is going very valuable if we can configure an email notification will be sent to a group (users) when new artifacts been uploaded to a specified local repo or a new repo been created. The reason for this is we, admin of the artifactory instance don't normally check the logs for new artifacts been uploaded or a remote repo just been created through the system logs.
I don't know whether to do this, we'll need to involve SMTP server settings or not.
Please forgive me if you found broken English - but I think you get the point on this request.
