Use unix-maven-plugin to create rpm, deb and pkg packages?

While the setup for installing Artifactory on Linux kinda works, it is very complex and error-prone. And Solaris is not supported.
Have you considered using unix-maven-plugin and appassembler-maven-plugin instead?
