Note that Apple is only dropping deployment included with Snow Leopard
Server.  It does not sound like they're dropping WebObjects in its
entirety, based on responses to similar articles.

Sounds like they're dropping major support for the app as well, or  
have done so.

I have not seen any indication of such, and folks on the forums claim
that it's still heavily used.  Can you point to some references?

It was in that article.  Said that XTools support was dropped and that  
they suggested using some environment inside Eclipse.
