[PATCH] FOX with older fontconfig

Was trying to run fox 1.7.20 with the system fontconfig,
which is a tad outdated for the older SDKs (but works OK)

With these patches it still worked with the 10.4 SDK,
but shouldn't change anything on the newer platforms ?
