Hash: SHA256 Hi, Ben Donnachie asked me to release his following announcement to the list, after I had tested the new package, gpg 2.0.0.10. I have tested it on two different MacBooks Intel Core 2 Duo, running MacOSX 10.5.6, and found the software to perform as expected, using either GPGMail 1.2.0 (v56), or Thunderbird+Enigmail. Hash: SHA1 On Jan 14, 2009, at 12:31 PM, Marcus Benjamin wrote: > Is a PPC version in the works as well? > > Thanks > > Marcus > Hi Marcus, further my previous response to your query: I am using a PPC: Model Name: PowerBook G4 15" Model Identifier: PowerBook5,4 Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (1.1) Processor Speed: 1.33 GHz Number Of CPUs: 1 L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 2 GB Bus Speed: 167 MHz Running Mac OS X 10.5.6 (9G55) I have downloaded pinentry 0.4 Beta <http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=248469&package_id=304467 > ran the package. Then dowloaded src gpg 2.0.0.10 <http://www.gnupg.org/download/index.en.html >, compiled and installed it. Now I have: $ gpg2 --version gpg (GnuPG) 2.0.10 libgcrypt 1.4.0 Copyright (C) 2009 Free Software Foundation, Inc. License GPLv3+: GNU GPL version 3 or later <http://gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html > This is free software: you are free to change and redistribute it. There is NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by law. Home: ~/.gnupg Supported algorithms: Pubkey: RSA, ELG, DSA, ELG Cipher: 3DES, CAST5, BLOWFISH, AES, AES192, AES256, TWOFISH Hash: MD5, SHA1, RIPEMD160, SHA256, SHA384, SHA512, SHA224 Compression: Uncompressed, ZIP, ZLIB, BZIP2 [I could have updated libgcrypt to current 1.4.3, but 1.4.0 is good enough.] Also, in Terminal: $ gpg-agent gpg-agent: gpg-agent running and available $ locate pinentry /usr/local/libexec/pinentry-mac.app I have tested the new installation that performs correctly with Thunderbird version 2.0.0.19 (20081209) + Enigmail version 0.95.7 (20080808), and with GPGMail 1.2.0 (v56), including gpg-agent and the native Mac pinentry. Please note that compiling gpg2 from source requires previous installation of libraries: Libgcrypt, Libksba, Libgpg-error, Libassuan <http://www.gnupg.org/download/index.en.html#gnupg2 > There might be, and probably are some other libraries that are required for a successful compiling and install of gpg2, but I can't remember which ones, I apologize. What I am sure is that if some library or some component is missing in your system, you will be notified which is missing and where to get it, when you run ./configure. I hope this helps.
