I can't reproduce this with the message you sent me. That message is  
really broken though, because it contains two body tags, the latter  
being empty.
IMP renders the second, empty body, so I don't see anything in the  
message in the message view. Funnily if replying on a PHP 5 machine, I  
get the first body in the compose window. With PHP 4 I still get the  
empty body. But no matter what, I don't get an error when converting  
to plain text. Whether I use tidy or not in the mime viewer  
configuration doesn't seem to make a difference.
