Summary: Disable Ajax-IME and Social-IME by default
           Product: UIM
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Other
        AssignedTo: uim-bugs@...
        ReportedBy: utuhiro78@...

I tested Ajax-IME and Social-IME on uim-r5947.
They are fine input methods.

But most non-Japanese users don't know it's like a spyware.
We must not type important messages by Ajax-IME/Social-IME.
Server owners can check the messages.

I think you should disable Ajax-IME and Social-IME by default.
e.g.
--with-ajax-ime               Build a plugin for Ajax-IME [default=no]
--with-social-ime             Build a plugin for Social-IME [default=no]

And you should add some warnings to "configure --help" and uim-gtk-pref.
e.g.
Ajax-IME (non-privacy)

Thanks.

I don't think it is needed to disable these input method by default.  Instead,
how about showing pop-up message like "Caveat.  All the request to Social IME
server is not encrypted through the internet." upon creation of the input
context using uim-notify, and make user to select whether or not to show these
pop-ups (enabled by default)?

Iwata-san, what do you think?
