[VOTE] Benson Margulies for committerBenson has been working with CXF for several months now. He has the javascript grant thing that we are still getting pushed through. (Hopefully James and I can finish that up today) He's been doing a lot of work with the Aegis binding (which is great cause few of the rest of us have much expertise there). He's dug into the tooling. Dug into the simple frontends. He's made proposals (and then submitted a patch) to allow spring config in the tools. He's also dug into our build system a bit to fix the eclipse setup. He's been discussing his ideas on the mail list as well as asking for guidance when he stumbles across a problem. To me, he's shown he's an excellent engineer and can quickly grasp our code (maybe that shows we have good code ;-) and what needs to be done. [ ] +1 - Make him a committer now [ ] 0 [ ] -1 - Still needs a bit more work -- J. Daniel Kulp Principal Engineer IONA P: 781-902-8727 C: 508-380-7194 daniel.kulp@... http://www.dankulp.com/blog |

CORBA QuestionNot sure yet if this is the best mail group to ask this question but
it's a start. We have been looking at cfx as a general service infastructure but have a need for CORBA support. I see on the website that it is mentioned. Is this implimented currently, if not then then could we impliment this feature if yes whats the process overview? Re: CORBA QuestionSteve,
On Friday 21 September 2007, James, Steven wrote: > Not sure yet if this is the best mail group to ask this question but > it's a start. I'm CCing the yoko-dev group. They have written plugins into CXF (and some idl <-> wsdl tooling) that allow some level of CORBA support. Using the CXF JAX-WS api's, you can expose a service as a CORBA service or use the CXF clients to talk to a CORBA service. I don't know the full details of what is and is not supported. You'd have to ask them or check their docs/website/wiki. That said, a discussion has been started to move those plugins from Yoko to CXF directly. Thus, there is a strong possibility that the support will be part of a future version of CXF. > We have been looking at cfx as a general service infastructure but > have a need for CORBA support. If you'd like to get involved, I'd definitely suggest starting by looking at Yoko. Start with that, fix issues, propose enhancements, etc.... Thanks!
