Hello to you all,

i'am  proud to do the first release as a Mojo-Commiter...so here it
is...a btw. a SNAPSHOT release is deployed as well (1.2-SNAPSHOT) for
convenience..

Release Notes:
https://jira.codehaus.org/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=11780&version=14307

Staging repo:
https://nexus.codehaus.org/content/repositories/orgcodehausmojo-041/

Site: http://mojo.codehaus.org/appassembler/appassembler-maven-plugin/

Bug

[MAPPASM-25] - extrajvmArguments cannot handle properties
[MAPPASM-103] - whitespace in BASEDIR causes call
                     %BASEDIR%\bin\app-env.bat to fail
[MAPPASM-108] - No libs delivered into lib directory when
                     generating daemon following example
[MAPPASM-112] - extraJvmArguments are passed verbatim
     [MAPPASM-119] - @BASEDIR@ no longer gets expanded to $BASEDIR
                     or %BASEDIR% in "extraJvmArguments" tag
[MAPPASM-120] - Generated .bat file calls endlocal twice in
                     error case
[MAPPASM-125] - binPrefix Parameter on the "Advanced example" page.

Improvement

     [MAPPASM-47] - appassembler-maven-plugin -
                    Allow customization of directory name(s)
     [MAPPASM-48] - Various adjustements to
                    appassembler:generate-demons goal
     [MAPPASM-49] - Apache license lock-in
     [MAPPASM-52] - extraJvmArguments per program
[MAPPASM-127] - Update example doc for Linux daemon based on
Java Service Wrapper with correct configuration
                     name for jvmsettings
     [MAPPASM-128] - Mark plugin as @threadsafe
[MAPPASM-133] - HTML Output of the FAQ (2. Question) is not correct
[MAPPASM-134] - Create integration test based on the
                     maven-invoker-plugin
[MAPPASM-135] - Allow customization of the bin folder
     [MAPPASM-136] - No usage of ${pom.groupId}
[MAPPASM-137] - Document the specifics for repositoryLayout
                     in relationship with Maven 3
[MAPPASM-139] - Improve integration tests to get run only once
     [MAPPASM-140] - Improve documentation

New Feature

[MAPPASM-37] - Add ability to add version to all generated scripts
[MAPPASM-126] - Supplemental arguments for the mainClass

Task

[MAPPASM-58] - incorporate book into docs
[MAPPASM-131] - Test failures when build with maven 3
[MAPPASM-141] - All files should have the same license content
[MAPPASM-142] - Cleanup warnings during build

Vote is Open for 72 hours.

Hi,

so based on the vote which results in no vote nor positive nor negative
feedback ...this means that the release is not accepted and can't be
published ?

So i have to drop the release ?

Kind regards

Some parts of this message have been removed. Learn more about Nabble's security policy.
Hi Karl,

I have never used this plugin, so for me it's quite hard to vote.

You haven't mentioned "The vote will succeed by lazy consensus"
Without these words it would mean you have to wait for at least 3x +1 of mojo-developers
With these words you would be good to go right now.

Since you've explcitly asked for verification due to the large number of fixes, I'd send out another reminder.
Once you have your +1's you can continue the release (72h have already past)

Thank you for extending the vote, this is a very popular plugin and I
am sure there are lots of interests to test out the new version

Tested with multiple projects at my comp. No regression found, have
not put time to test the few features yet.

I would be nice to update the plugin doc to add @since tag

+1 from me

I tried that without luck. I was not successful in adding the staging repository to our artifactory server. I also tried adding it to my pom.xml, without any luck. Version 1.2 is never found. I'm not that experienced with managing mavin repos, I mainly used the central repo in the past.

I have currently given up on trying it, as I don't have much time for it. If you can give me a hint I may try it again.

Hi ablock84,

the simplest things is you just download the current sources code from
SVN (http://svn.codehaus.org/mojo/tags/appassembler-1.2/) and do mvn
install after that you can use the release 1.2 of the appassembler-plugin...

Hi,

Cause i have to have at least 3x a +1 to get this vote pass which it
hasn't...and i have not added the magic words: "The vote will succeed by
lazy consensus"...

Perso I think it's the historical way here (and documented in the
default template
http://mojo.codehaus.org/development/releasevote-mailtemplate.html)
So as you did a lot of efforts (fixes and documentation) you won't
have any (at least no mine) complains if you use this lazy consensus
mode.

early and often :-)

Site:
http://mojo.codehaus.org/appassembler/appassembler-maven-plugin/

Bug
[MAPPASM-25] - extrajvmArguments cannot handle properties
[MAPPASM-103] - whitespace in BASEDIR causes call

                     generating daemon following example
[MAPPASM-112] - extraJvmArguments are passed verbatim
     [MAPPASM-119] - @BASEDIR@ no longer gets expanded to $BASEDIR
                     or %BASEDIR% in "extraJvmArguments" tag
[MAPPASM-120] - Generated .bat file calls endlocal twice in
                     error case
[MAPPASM-125] - binPrefix Parameter on the "Advanced example" page.

Improvement
     [MAPPASM-47] - appassembler-maven-plugin -
                    Allow customization of directory name(s)
     [MAPPASM-48] - Various adjustements to
                    appassembler:generate-demons goal
     [MAPPASM-49] - Apache license lock-in
     [MAPPASM-52] - extraJvmArguments per program
[MAPPASM-127] - Update example doc for Linux daemon based on
Java Service Wrapper with correct configuration
                     name for jvmsettings
     [MAPPASM-128] - Mark plugin as @threadsafe
[MAPPASM-133] - HTML Output of the FAQ (2. Question) is not correct
[MAPPASM-134] - Create integration test based on the
                     maven-invoker-plugin
[MAPPASM-135] - Allow customization of the bin folder
     [MAPPASM-136] - No usage of ${pom.groupId}
[MAPPASM-137] - Document the specifics for repositoryLayout
                     in relationship with Maven 3
[MAPPASM-139] - Improve integration tests to get run only once
     [MAPPASM-140] - Improve documentation

New Feature
[MAPPASM-126] - Supplemental arguments for the mainClass

Task
[MAPPASM-58] - incorporate book into docs
[MAPPASM-131] - Test failures when build with maven 3
[MAPPASM-141] - All files should have the same license content
[MAPPASM-142] - Cleanup warnings during build
