[bug #18112] <SPAMMODE> produces broken linksURL: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?18112> Summary: <SPAMMODE> produces broken links Project: MHonArc Submitted by: jab Submitted on: Thursday 10/26/2006 at 05:22 Category: None Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Operating System: Linux Perl Version: 5.6.8 Component Version: 2.6.16 Fixed Release: _______________________________________________________ Details: When an address is obfuscated due to spam mode, it is not uncommon to create a broken hyperlink. I think it is better to not create a hyperlink at all than to create a broken one. [bug #18112] <SPAMMODE> produces broken linksFollow-up Comment #1, bug #18112 (project mhonarc): This is a limitation of SPAMMODE, and the related resources that allows one to rewrite addresses. There is the 'nourl' filter option for m2h_text_plain::filter which will disable the creation of links in text messages, but using it may make archived messages less usable by readers. Maybe a smarter regex can be used in address rewrite resources, but it may have an impact performance depending on the nature of the regex. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?18112> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.nongnu.org/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@... with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE MHONARC-DEV |

[bug #18112] <SPAMMODE> produces broken linksFollow-up Comment #2, bug #18112 (project mhonarc): The work around for this is - for us - is to detect and kill off this type of broken at serving time. So not so critical from my perspective.

[bug #18112] <SPAMMODE> produces broken linksFollow-up Comment #3, bug #18112 (project mhonarc): Note to self - here's a particularly strong example. Might be breaking for two separate reasons. http://www.mail-archive.com/pymol-users@.../msg06881.html _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?18112> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.nongnu.org/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@... with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE MHONARC-DEV |

[bug #18112] <SPAMMODE> produces broken linksFollow-up Comment #4, bug #18112 (project mhonarc): For the comment #3 URL, is the "breaking" the line breaks in the URL. This could be how the original data is formatted. Examination of the raw mail data is required.
