[clay] Clay: possible subproject of Tiles?Hi all (and in particular Gary VanMatre).
Now that Shale is being dismantled, I think that Clay could live as a subproject of Tiles, since its primary goal is to work with templates. I think that both projects could benefit from each other, though Clay is tightly connected to JSF. Thoughts? Antonio |

I actually don't think Shale is going anywhere... what seems more likely is that we'll "retire" bits of it (like the Tiles integration) in favor of other things that already exist, and _maybe_ split up the distribution so things can be released separately as people are interested in them. -- Wendy |

For what its worth, I am very interested in the future of clay as I have a lot of work invested in it. I am willing do whatever it takes to keep it around. Ryan > > -- > Wendy > |

That being the case, it would be very helpful if you could try the latest code (specifically Clay, and whatever other modules interest you) in the active release branches [1],[2] and give us feedback. Such feedback is one of the important factors that will be used to determine the quality of the release, for example. Thanks again for your interest. -Rahul [1] http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/shale/framework/trunk/ [2] http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/shale/framework/branches/SHALE_1_0_X/ |
