Actually, I don't think I've ever seen a "personal website" developed in Flex. From my experience, Flex is mostly used for building Web applications, as a replacement for javascript based ajax technics. For example, I work in a company that develops digital photography and printing software, and these are sites that have image editing applications developed in Flex: www.mixbook.com, www.flauntr.com, www.mediaclip.ca.

I don't think it's "wrong", but it depends.
Are you thinking of developing the main part of your website in Flex, or just some small parts? Beware that it's easier to be indexed by search engines when the website is developed using semantic HTML (and CSS).

Besides, I think that, maybe, when developing a personal website, you won't get to use the best features of Flex... and some things may be easier to develop using "plain old Flash" or other technologies.

Best regards.

yea sure, i take your advice!! i'd actually done websites using just
html/css. IIts quite boring and dull in animations, i've done layout
of my website, still buggy, lot of things to go, check this out
http://abhilashm86.zymichost.com/ , i'm really new to flex, so while
reading and learning concepts i've implemented this!!
after getting to learn more flex, i'd move to buisness applications:)
i did this to show power of flex and easiness.........
