Unable to call LockFeature

We have a Oracle NG backed WFS layer we are trying to call LockFeature on. The reply from geoserver is "argument type mismatch". I've attached the request XML and the stack trace from geoserver. As far as I can see, the LockFeature request is valid and in accordance with the schema.
