The "publish by copy" seems to open a very interesting possibility of publishing to a remote server and attaching to it fro remote debugging. As this is possible to do manually, I think plugin should be able to support such deployment - maybe setup a "file receiver" on the other end.

Such functionality will definitely open the door into real life [semi-]production debugging. Even QA problems may be solved much faster.

This also calls for pluggable copy process. Geronimo plugin should be easially reconfigurable to support various methods of delivering files to the remote server and configuration restart methods.

One of the obvious solutions would be ssh copy and remote restart. Problem here is that not all server versions may be supporting remote configuration restart. In this case  - a simple agent on the server with a  custom RPC call into it ?
