Process cannot be killed in Netbeans

A process started in Netbeans with mevenide cannot be terminated within Netbeans. After invoking "terminate process"  the process disappears from the processes list in the "Runtime" window but it still produces output on standard out. Moreover one cannot connect to the process through the jconsole. The concerning application is provided as attachment.  Running / terminating ([Ctrl+C]) the application in the bash works smoothly, though.

we currently wait for the processing of the maven build to reach a point where it a check to proceed or cancel is done. We should probably add some waiting timeout after which we do a hard-kill.

I experience this problem with Maven plugin 3.1.4, Sun java6u6, Netbeans 6.1 in Ubuntu 8.04
