Mappings ignore defineStatements
---------------------------------

                 Key: MOJO-1386
                 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MOJO-1386
             Project: Mojo
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: rpm
            Reporter: Dave Whitla

Rather than use paths like "/usr/share" in mappings we are supposed to use %{_datadir} (which incidentally should be read from rpmrc which the plugin does not seem to do).
Unfortunately, specifying these values as "defineStatements" does not have the desired effect for mappings - the specfile is created as you would expect but resources are not copied correctly to destinations such as %{datadir}/%{name}/bin.

[jira] Updated: (MOJO-1386) Mappings ignore defineStatements

Brett Okken updated MOJO-1386:
------------------------------

    Complexity: Expert  (was: Intermediate)

While I certainly see the value of this, it is unfortunately going to be pretty complex to implement.

Currently the plugin is really only using rpmbuild to assemble the rpm. The plugin itself is actually organizaing all of the contents. So the plugin will have to be modified to actually parse/understand the variables.

I have started thinking through how this could be done, but I do not foresee it making the 2.0-beta-3 release.
