 With the latest bzr version, if, while other releases are still loading on
 the right side, you click on any cluster, release, track, or file, the
 lower two tag info areas don't update - they only still show "[loading
 album information]".

 I'm not sure just which rev became the .12 final, but I'm using rev 1004
 from bzr.

 Load a bunch of already tagged releases into Picard, such that you have a
 couple of pages, for a while, of releases that are in the process of
 loading.  In the past, for any files or clusters, or already loaded
 releases, you could see the data in the "Original Metadata" fields, and
 see + modify the data in the "New Metadata" fields.  Now, until the last
 release's data has been loaded, you don't/can't.  Be it a file or track, a
 cluster, or an already loaded release, they all act as if they were
 unloaded releases, displaying "[loading album information]" in the "New
 Metadata" area, and greying out the "Original Metadata" fields.

 0.12 was rev 1003 and there did not change much since then.

 I can't reproduce this here. Might be related to a Plugin which does not
 properly finalize loading an album. Which plugins do you have installed?
 Could you try with all plugins deactivated?

 Also be post the debug output. Maybe Picard crashed somewhere else and
 just does not update the metadata panes properly.

 There's not anything (at all) in the debug output; only the change in
 behaviour.  I've noticed, migrating from 996 to 1004, that this is not the
 only minor change with odd behaviour where things get delayed longer than
 they used to (in this case, the "unlocking" of the Metadata panes).  I've
 also run into this in a few other areas; in several cases last night, I
 was unable to scan, submit, or save while data was still being loaded for
 other releases.  I'm also seeing it in the behaviour in the status text at
 the very bottom of the screen; it used to be that I could move to a track
 or file, and the text would update to show the location of that file
 (quite useful to my workflow), even if it then flashed back to show the
 location of the file currently being puid scanned or looked up.  Now, it
 does do that, but only if there's not release data pending loading - in
 the case where releases are currently being loaded, the status text does
 not update, and I have to go into the file's props, then the data tab, to
 find the same info out.

 There was absolutely no change between 996 and 1004 that is related to
 performance, threading or anything else that could cause the issues you
 describe, and I can't reproduce any of those issues.

 The issue that it is sometimes hard to see what Picard is doing because
 the status bar is the only place that shows the current activity and gets
 replaced quickly if there are parallel actions going on is also well known
 and covered by other tickets.

 Add Cluster, Convert Encoding, Coverart, Play/Delete (tested and working
 fine with 996), Search Discogs, Search Google

 As you say, it's difficult to see what may be causing the problems.  They
 don't raise to a level that they appear in the log, and the status bar
 doesn't really provide sufficient detail - or the detail flashes past too
 quickly to catch.

 Most likely this problem was there before 996, but maybe only happens
 under special circumstances. But at the moment I have no clue what's
 happening in your setup :(
